My name is Rachel and I set up Smart Office Support in 2017, to give Micro and Small Businesses the admin support they need to enable them to grow.
I love admin, organisation and processes, all the jobs that you either don’t enjoy or struggle to find time for, leaving you free to think and work on your business expansion.
I bring a wealth of corporate experience in project (Prince2) and Service Delivery Management (ITIL) and offer the broad range of support that many VAs aren’t able to. As this became more apparent to many businesses, the demand for my services grew and so did SOS. Now my husband is part of the team.
I thrive on the variety of work I’m given and the new challenges that may arise, recently getting involved to help our local Chamber of Commerce with their membership process, and improving their communications with all their stakeholders.
We now embrace the systems and processes to help all businesses, including ours, to become carbon neutral and responsible custodians of our environment.
My husband says that I am like an ‘island of order in a sea of disorder’, with many ‘to-do’ lists on the go at the same time.
I live and work in Portishead, a beautiful part of the world, where we are so lucky to have access to wonderful walks along the seafront and into the nature reserve.
When I need a bit of downtime I turn to T’ai chi and Yoga, both great ways to relax as well as keeping you fit, but my favourite hobby is doing Jigsaws. I think I enjoy these so much because it is taking something from chaos, sorting it out, and then making something of it; a busman’s holiday for me!

When asked what I enjoy most about my work, it’s the variety. I love doing new and different things, especially the learning process that often goes with it, I love to ensure that we get it working seamlessly for you where we can. We love having something to get our teeth into, other than a bar of chocolate!
